Bad Girl Ventures launched in Cincinnati last year as a unique form of micro lender: one focused not just on getting financing into the hands of women-owned startups, but also on providing the education and resources women need to build successful businesses. In the last year, BGV has attracted a lot of attention as it has grown in participation and geography, most recently announcing its expansion to Cleveland.

For Jim Hall, innovation roared in on the back of a stroke and a bout with shingles. The result was a new vision of the world and a brand new art form, which is gaining attention for the shimmering colors and almost-moving shapes the former Procter & Gamble executive paints with hundreds of vertical, straight lines.
