Sam Kinkopf of Frisson Media
Meet Sam Kinkopf, founder of Frisson Media, a small video production company on the west side of Cleveland with four employees.
What types of video production do you do?
We create mainly web based videos for all forms of companies from about us videos to testimonials and promos. We do all aspects of video production: pre-production, producing, shooting video, post production, editing, effects, animation, logos, graphics and animation.
Why did you start Frisson Media?
Frisson Media was started because of the talent I was surrounded by. We all used to work together at another company before I started Frisson in December 2012. Our Emmy-award winning staff is super-creative and Frisson provided a new path and direction to allow their creativity to be heard.
What’s behind the name “frisson?”
Frisson, by definition, is a shudder or thrill of emotion that is caused by a strong feeling of excitement that leads to the sensation of goose bumps.
What makes Cleveland an ideal location for Frisson Media?
Cleveland is an ideal location for us because we are all born and raised in the area. We are Cleveland proud and want to be known as the go-to company in the greater Cleveland area. We love this city.
What is something few people know about you as a business owner?
I am a part of COSE, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and Business Network International (BNI).
What is the Sit Down Zumock Podcast and why is it a good business tool?
The Sit Down Zumock podcast is with Cleveland comedian and radio personality Chad Zumock. The podcast is uploaded on a regular basis on iTunes and YouTube. We encourage people to come to whatever bar we are filming at that week to listen in live as we record the podcasts with well known guests.
The podcast is a great tool for us because it allows us to get our company name out there. The podcast has a strong following and opens the window of opportunity for us to reach an audience without being overwhelming.
What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?
What I love most about being an entrepreneur is that I never dread going into work. I can honestly say this is the happiest I have ever been. I love networking and meeting new people to get Frisson's name out there and I have met some new friends along the way.
