Cold Jet, based in Loveland, specializes in dry ice blasting systems as a way to accomplish heavy-duty cleaning in an environmentally responsible manner. Cold Jet's machines make carbon dioxide pellets and shoot them through special nozzles at high pressure to remove unwanted material from a wide array of surfaces. Upon impact, the pellets return to gas and dissipate. The process is especially useful in commercial bakeries and other sites where moisture can affect product outcomes. Customers include EPA-, FDA- and USDA- inspected facilities as well as those who finish medical devices. With operations in the U.S., Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Canada and Mexico, Cold Jet in 2009 employed 75 locally and 110 globally.
