Marietta, OH
Marietta, OH

Like much of southern Ohio, Marietta was a destination for westward wandering pioneers. Yet, only Marietta can boast of being the first permanent settlement in the Northwest Territory.

Since 1788, thousands of folks from near and far have made Marietta their own permanent settlement. Graced by two rivers (the Ohio and the Muskingum), Marietta is a city of parks, 19th century architecture, brick streets, historical landmarks and museums. Its small town elegance includes good restaurants, a vibrant arts and entertainment scene and an attractive cost of living. And its diverse economic base, broadband capabilities and modern transportation infrastructure make it a good place to do business, too. Leading employers include Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta Eramet (ferroalloys), Tata Business Support Services, RJF International (decorative, industrial, transit and office products) and Pioneer Pipe.
